To develop students’ comprehensive skills in musical listening, sight-reading, singing, and analysis.

Curriculum

solfeggio and ear training, music theory, harmony, Western music history and appreciation, keyboard music history, choir, conducting, and more.

Course Features

The integrated music general courses are a core highlight of BEAM’s teaching system. Courses are interconnected rather than taught in isolation, and through this cohesive structure, students across different majors systematically develop technical skills in their specialized courses, deepen music understanding and analysis, enhance musical performance, and build overall musical literacy.

· Building on sight-singing, ear training, and music theory, students develop inner listening skills and theoretical analysis, which are further deepened through harmony courses to understand the intrinsic logic and structural organization of musical works.
· Western Music History and Appreciation and Keyboard Music History guide students to understand the development of musical styles within their historical context, cultivating musical aesthetics and critical thinking.
