In the recently concluded Beijing division of the China Youth Music Competition - Hummingbird Music Award, we witnessed ensemble and solo performances in both professional and amateur groups. These included various forms of chamber music such as string ensembles, wind ensembles, accordion ensembles, and special combinations, as well as piano and harp solos, and even an a cappella performance. After each performance, the contestants received applause, and the judges chatted warmly with them. Besides strangers who met through music, the collaborators included many close friends and family.
